NiosPDF ("the app") is a PDF viewer and editor for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information. In short: NiosPDF does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data, and your documents never leave your device.
We collect no personal information whatsoever. The app has no user accounts, no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics SDK, and no crash-reporting or telemetry SDK. We operate no servers and receive no data from your device. NiosPDF does not track you across apps or websites, and contains no third-party tracking code.
Every operation — viewing, editing, merging, splitting, annotating, filling and signing forms, compressing, converting, and optical character recognition (OCR) — is performed entirely on your device. Your documents are never uploaded to us or to any third party.
The app stores the following locally, in its own sandboxed container, so that it can work between sessions. This data stays on your device and is removed when you delete the app:
If you have iCloud Backup enabled, iOS may include this container in your encrypted device backup. That backup is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy; we have no access to it.
NiosPDF is offline by design. It makes no network request while you view or edit a document, and it performs no background communication or usage reporting. The only time the network is involved is when you tap a web link, which is handed to your browser to open under its own policy.
Text recognition, where available, runs entirely on your device using Apple's built-in Vision framework. Page images and recognised text are never sent off the device.
iOS asks for your consent before granting any of the following, and the app works without them:
The app bundles PDF, document-conversion and UI libraries — including Syncfusion, PdfPig and PDFsharp — all of which run locally and perform no network communication of their own. No third-party SDK in the app collects analytics, advertising identifiers, or tracking data.
Printing hands the document to the operating system's print system and the printer you select. If you export or share a file to another application, that file and its handling then fall under that application's own privacy policy. NiosPDF sends nothing elsewhere.
The App Store operates its own account, purchase and diagnostic systems, governed by Apple's privacy policy. If you consent to share diagnostics with developers in iOS Settings, Apple may provide us with anonymised crash reports; these come from Apple, not from code in the app, and contain no document content.
NiosPDF is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect it from children.
We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose personal data, because we do not collect any. There is no server-side retention of your data. Data held locally is retained until you delete it in the app or delete the app.
You remain in full control of your data. You can delete individual documents, signatures and saved profile details from within the app, or remove everything at once by deleting the app. Since we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf.
App data is stored inside the app's iOS sandbox, which other apps cannot read, and is protected by your device passcode and Apple's file-level encryption. Password-protected PDFs remain protected; passwords you enter are used only to open the document in memory and are not saved unless you choose to.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same URL with a revised "Last updated" date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
